Privacy Policy

Porchy ("we", "us") helps you track packages across multiple carriers. We built Porchy to be calm and private: we collect only what's needed to track your deliveries, we never sell your data, and we don't show ads. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Information we collect
- Email address. Used to create your account and sign you in with a one-time code. Porchy is passwordless — we don't store passwords.
- Package information you add. Tracking numbers, carriers, and any nicknames or labels you create.
- Tracking data. Shipment status, estimated delivery, and location updates retrieved from carriers for the tracking numbers you add.
- Push notification token. If you enable notifications, a device token so we can alert you when a package's status changes.
- Basic diagnostic data. Limited technical information needed to operate the app reliably (e.g., error logs). We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
How we use your information
- To track your packages and show their status, location, and estimated delivery.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To send delivery notifications you've opted into.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the app.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run Porchy, under agreements that limit their use of it:
- Supabase — secure database, authentication, and hosting for your account and package data.
- Shippo — carrier tracking; we send tracking numbers to retrieve shipment status.
- Expo (EAS) — delivery of push notifications and core app services.
- Apple — app distribution and, where applicable, push notification delivery.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, which permanently removes your account and associated package data. You may also email us to request deletion.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access is restricted so that you can only see your own packages. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children's privacy
Porchy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the app.
